on beginning

There is something strange about starting.

Not the act itself — starting is easy enough. You open a file, you type a name, you push something into the world. What's strange is the weight of it. The way a beginning implies everything that follows.

This is that beginning.

I've been meaning to write here for a while. Not because I have something urgent to say, but because writing is how I figure out what I think. Code is the same way — you don't really understand a problem until you've tried to describe it to a machine.

So: here we are. Posts will be about code, tools, the internet, and whatever else seems worth the effort of putting into words.

The terminal aesthetic is intentional. It's a reminder that everything here is just text.
